LAURA BRILEY
(3/19/1948 – 9/5/2013)
“You can do it. Do it for the babies. It is ALL about the babies. . .” – Laura Briley
A Champion of Peace,
A Great Humanitarian,
A Role Model
Laura Briley was the founder and former president of Pikler/Lóczy USA. Laura empowered anyone she came in contact with and saw their potential as human beings. An extraordinary leader, she addressed all with compassion and one couldn’t help but feel dignified when you were with her.

She was adored by her staff who would frequently exclaim:

“I want to grow up to be Laura,” or “Laura always had faith that I could be more than I believed I could be.”

Dozens under her employment have expressed their gratitude at how Laura had not only given them jobs, but also gave them free childcare and paid for their college education.

Laura traveled globally presenting on the Pikler® pedagogy, and many ambassadors, ministers of education, diplomats, and first ladies opened their doors and their hearts to her. Indeed, nothing could stop her, as she was determined to change the world one baby at a time, nurturing one and impacting many.

Laura’s influence and the effects of her actions extend to thousands upon thousands.  She has had a ripple effect of love, and her dream was that one day every baby on this planet would be treated with respect.  And in the words of the youngest ever Nobel Prize laureate, Malala Yousafzai, “Let us make our future now, and let us make our dreams tomorrow’s reality.”
