Today, September 29, we honor Dr. Tony Curtis on the anniversary of his passing.

Dr. Curtis was our first contributor to Pikler/Lóczy USA, He reached out to us in 2003 to see what he could do to help the Pikler® Institute. Both his daughters, Jamie Lee and Alexandra (founding board member of PLUSA), had told him about Pikler because they had been greatly influenced by the Pikler® Approach, as well as by Resources for Infant Educarers (RIE®). He wanted to help in some way because his daughters were so passionate about this way of caring for infants and toddlers.

Dr. Curtis visited the Pikler® Institute in Budapest in 2003 and was the honorary chairman at a charity gala, “An Evening With Tony Curtis” at the Urania National Cinema. He helped significantly in raising $10,000 for the Pikler® Institute through this event. Read more in our 2004 newsletter…
