Sponsorship

Dear friends,

For six years, thanks to your generous donations, the work at the Pikler Institute has continued.

This is very encouraging! The next step, which is pivotal to the continued existence of the Institute, is to get regular support on which it can count.

This is where the idea of a monthly sponsorship came from.

It's important for you to know that with 1600 sponsors giving 25 euros, or the equivalent per month, the institute would reach financial independence. We might even say only 1600.

If you are convinced of the importance of keeping the Pikler Institute alive, become a sponsor, and talk to your family and friends about doing the same.

Since its change of statute, from public to private, on June 27th of 1998, more than 6 years ago, the operating costs of the Pikler Institute have been covered 30% by the Hungarian authorities, 10% by its own activity and 60% by donations. The donors have been from 17 different countries and the gifts have ranged in size from ten, to a hundred thousand euros. The undeniable success of this unified movement is because of the recognition of the value of the humanitarian and scientific work that is done at the Institute.

However, in spite of the importance of their amounts, the irregularity of the donations creates an uncertainty as to the survival of the Pikler Institute.

Ute Strub (Germany) and Henriette Lyngso (Denmark) got the idea of a sponsorship of the Institute. Sponsorship does not exclude donations, which remain a useful form of support. But, it will assist in its viability bringing safety and foreseeability for its financing. It is an exchange of ideas with an active and strong Pikler Institute that enriches the thoughts and ideas of early childhood for the world.

Lets make this sponsorship a success. It could bring all that we've wished for.
