If you have been considering making a donation to the Pikler Institute, you can now make a donation honoring Tony Curtis for the support that he has given us. Thank you.

Dear Friends of Pikler:

It is with deep regret that we have lost one of our Association's first contributor to the Pikler/Lóczy Fund USA, Tony Curtis. Mr. Curtis reached out to me to see what he could do to help the Pikler Institute. Both his daughters, Jamie Lee and Alexandra, had told him about Pikler and both had been greatly influenced by the Pikler Approach as well as Resources for Infant Educarers (RIE). He wanted to help in some way because his daughters were so passionate about this way of caring for infants and toddlers.

Tony visited the Pikler Institute in Budapest in 2003 and was the honorary chairman at a charity gala, "An Evening With Tony Curtis" at the Urania National Cinema. He and his daughter, Alexandra, helped significantly in helping to raise $10,000 for the Pikler Institute through this event. Read more in the 2004 Spring newsletter. He also funded a brochure for the Pikler/Lóczy Fund USA. We will be forever grateful for his generosity and willingness to travel to Budapest and help his native country.

Alexandra Curtis-Boyer is on our Pikler/USA Board and we share her sorrow at this time. Please say a prayer for all of Tony's family and friends. He will be missed by all of us.

Our deepest sympathy,
Laura Briley
